MAHALIA SOL

Mahalia Sol is a ritualistic performance artist and professional body piercer. A zealous explorer, she is eager to continue her education in body art and cultural expression. Mahalia has found her home in the body modification community. She is humbled to provide service and solace to those invested in honoring their bodies with safe piercing practices using stylized techniques. She was an apprentice for 2yrs before being licensed to pierce in the state of Maine. These days you can find Mahalia piercing in New York City. Mahalia attended the APP conference of 2018 and 2019, and has taken numerous accredited courses to further her education in safe practices. A budding Fakir, Mahalia’s artistry is the physical manifestation of her love for the human body.

RITUALISTIC WORKS IN HEALING

Dancing between consistency and spiritual exploration, Mahalia’s art is the physical expression of her life of ritual. Calmly, Mahalia explores the immediate vulnerabilities that present themselves through the act of piercing flesh. Each act presented has been a way to nurture and convey our deepest primal tendencies from the outside, in. Mahalia believes that there is continuity between art and ritual. From starting each morning sipping tea and thanking the Sun, to the way she sets up her tray of tools and adornments for each piercing- everything Mahalia does is with the same centered intent.
